Big news. Your giving has impacted lives in a real way.

Regina (14) advanced to Standard 7

Two of our girls were authorized by their respective school headmasters to advance one school year this fall. The girls are Regina (14) from Pangeti village, Rosa (9) from Chipolopolo village, and Deborahb from Mdeka village. All three girls were ranked #1 in their previous school year class.

To put their achievement in perspective, we must remember where they come from. Our girls have experienced:

  • Death of both parents
  • Food insecurity/Begging
  • Neglect by their guardian (grandmother)
  • Lack of funds to pay school fees
  • Child labor
  • Vulnerable to sexual abuse

Your donations have supplied a home, loving parents, 3 meals per day, good hygiene, clothing, counseling and a tutor. The majority of the girls have responded positively to their tutor and their methods. We have seen our girls soar from the bottom of the class to the heights.

Rosa (8) advanced to Standard 3

Margret is the Pangeti village family tutor. She teaches the girls after school Monday through Friday from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Margret is a strong follower of Jesus and a credentialed teacher. She is gifted at pushing the gitls to learn while understanding their backgrounds and limitations.

We expect more girls to make the same jump next fall. Maria (8) and Eliza (11) are ranked #1 in their respective school years. Eliza is now in Standard 5. This is the school year were English language is introduced. She will be a candidate to jump to Standard 7 next year.

We are truly thankful for our three tutors and their impact on each child.
